WE WANT TO KNOW!
What do the Black River and Rocky Point Community Forest mean to you?
What types of recreation opportunities would mean the most to you?
What are some of the challenges and threats to your enjoyment of the Black River?
Would you want to be part of the effort?
A survey is being administered on behalf of the Rocky Point Community Forest Steering Committee as part of a recreation planning and community engagement initiative. With the guidance of a National Parks Service Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance grant, the committee is creating a plan and strategy to grow the passive recreation opportunities at Rocky Point Community Forest, paying special attention to how the park fits into the larger recreation vision for the Black River. Community feedback is integral to developing an effective plan so your opinion is very important to this process. With the guidance of the community, the team will work with landscape architects to create a master plan.
Additionally the citizen support group, the “Friends of Rocky Point” is recruiting volunteers and beginning to shape its action plan. Your opinions will guide their priorities and your interests and skills could help to make your hopes for recreation opportunities at Rocky Point a reality.
This survey takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Your time and your opinion are appreciated. By sharing your perspective you are helping to tailor the plan which will guide the future recreational opportunities at Rocky Point. Actual implementation of the plans will depend on community interest, future funding and management capabilities.
Please share this survey with others that may be interested in future work at Rocky Point Community Forest and conservation/ recreation along the Black River.
We look forward to hearing from you!
