Ask SC Legislators to Support Full Funding of the Land and Water Conservation Fund

Established by Congress in 1964, the Land and Water Conservation Fund was created to fulfill a bipartisan commitment to protect natural areas, water resources and cultural heritage, and to provide recreation opportunities.

The LWCF has provided funding to help protect some of South Carolina’s most special places and ensure recreational access for hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities.
The Waccamaw National Wildlife Refuge is just one of those special places.

Earnings from oil and gas leasing are invested in the LWCF. NO taxpayer dollars are used. And the benefits to Americans are huge!

In SC, Congressman Cunningham and Senator Graham are sponsors of  bills (HR 3195 and S. 1081, respectively) that support full funding of the LWCF.

But we need more supporters. So we’ve joined with our partners at Conservation Voters of SC. Together we can convince our congressional leadership to support full funding of the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
