Rather than large group cleanups, we are encouraging you to do your own solo, family, or socially distanced cleanups. We will provide you with supplies and you can clean up whenever you like! Roadsides, ditches, swamps, creeks, and rivers are all great places to collect trash to help prevent pollution from entering our rivers.
We can provide you with pickers, gloves, and trash bags – all of which are yours to keep except the pickers. Simply visit us during one of our scheduled pickup times to collect your gear, do your cleanup during the month of September, and then submit your cleanup data and photos.
Dates: Saturday, August 29 & Saturday, September 5
Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Location: back parking lot at the Coastal Science Center (301 Allied Dr, Conway, SC)
Don’t need supplies but still want to clean up? That’s great! You don’t need fancy equipment to do your own cleanup. Just be sure to submit your data to participate in Solo Cleanup September.
Participants will be eligible for our Cleanup Awards! We will celebrate you and all your help with a virtual awards ceremony and there will even be prizes awarded! Submit your award entries and pictures with your data to be included in the competition. Submit your cleanup data here! We will be giving awards for Most Trash Collected, Biggest Piece of Trash, Prettiest Piece of Trash, Most Misguided Trash, and Weirdest Find. We can’t wait to see what you’ll find!
